This project involves all qualifying districts in the State, both Urban and Rural.  The main focus of CUTS is to specifically create an environment for the technical specialists in the State to share knowledge and expertise and to collaborate one with another to further the use of educational technology to enhance learning in the classroom.  Collaborative relationships will be developed with the educational technical specialists throughout the State has they work to together to share resources and knowledge. Because the technical consulting, training and coaching will be done by educational technical professionals in the State, long-term relationships will be developed that will foster and ensure collaboration for years to come.  The CUTS web site will help in facilitating collaboration by providing on-line tools and resources.  The CUTS directly promotes collaboration among the educational technical specialists in each participating district.

UEN, USOE, the Regional Service Centers and all Districts are directly involved and have committed to provide support to this important project.  All these entities will provide technical content experts to share and help other regions provide training, support and coaching.   The regional technology staff (repair technicians, networking support, technology trainers and technology coordinators) provide coordination, training and technical and educational support the program.  Without the regional technology staff support this program would not be successful.  The time and effort spent by this staff is considered as matching funds in the budget and totals $100,000.00 (1/4 time salary for three of regional service centers (Northern Utah Educational Service Center-NUES, Central Utah Educational Service Center-CUES, and Southeast Educational Service Center (SESC) employees), (1/2 time salary for the grant administrator and support for the Southwest Educational Development Center-SEDC).
